CNC Turning Services of Chilled Cast Iron Cassette Rolls
When a customer in the steel milling industry needed a cassette roll that would be used to hot roll steel, they knew to turn to McCorkle Machine & Engineering. With our expertise in rolling mill redress operations, they were sure that we would exceed their expectations. Utilizing our Landwell 2-axis CNC lathe, we turned chilled cast iron to redress the outer diameter to the profile specified in the customer's drawings. This cassette roll measured 7.000" in length with an outer diameter of 16.000". Working to concentric tolerances of 0.001", we also met the customer supplied gauge for the profile elements. Our in-process checks and final inspection ensured that we delivered our customer the high quality product they expect from us. For this customer, we produced 10 to 20 cassette rolls per month.
